General Care Tips:

  • Always check the care label: Before washing, always refer to the care instructions on the garment’s label for specific guidelines.

  • Hand wash or machine wash with care:

    • For delicate fabrics like velvet, silk, and satin, hand wash in cold water or use a gentle machine cycle.

    • For most other materials, machine wash cold on a delicate cycle to preserve the fabric and prevent shrinking or stretching.

  • Avoid using bleach: Bleach can damage delicate fabrics and affect the color of your clothing. Use mild detergents to maintain the fabric’s softness and vibrancy.

  • Avoid fabric softeners: Fabric softeners may coat fabrics, affecting their breathability and performance. Stick to mild detergents to preserve the fabric's natural feel.

  • Dry with care:

    • Air dry your dancewear by hanging it in a cool, dry place.

    • Avoid direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure can cause fading.

    • Do not tumble dry unless specified by the care label, as heat can damage the elastic and fabric fibers.

  • Iron with caution: For items that require ironing, use a low heat setting and always iron on the reverse side of the fabric to avoid direct contact with the material. For delicate fabrics, consider using a steamer instead of an iron.

  • Store properly:

    • Hang your garments on a padded hanger to avoid stretching the fabric.

    • For skirts and dresses with delicate fabrics, use garment bags for extra protection.

    • Store in a cool, dry place to prevent damage from humidity or extreme temperatures.

Special Care for Specific Fabrics:

  • Velvet and Satin: Hand wash or machine wash on a delicate cycle in cold water. Lay flat to dry, and avoid wringing the fabric. Gently brush to restore its smooth texture.

  • Spandex/Stretch Fabrics: These fabrics should be washed in cold water and air-dried to maintain elasticity. Avoid high heat as it can compromise the stretch.

  • Cotton and Blends: Cotton dancewear can be machine washed on a cold setting and tumble dried on low heat. However, for items that you want to retain their shape and fit, air-drying is recommended.
